Like the majority of Monster's headphones, the Solo HDs comprise of the ControlTalk function. In the time I've been testing these I've listened into a wide selection of audio from tough rock to hip-hop to Broadway musicals (do not judge!) to painless listening. Unlike the DiddyBeats and Woman Gaga Heartbeats, the Beats Solo sound superb across the musical spectrum. Up near exactly where the cord connects to the headphones can be a modest controller that facilitates playback manage as well as a mic for hands-free calling. The volume/playback control aspect will only work with all the iPhone and iPod. However, the mic works on other brand names of smart phone (but not all).
